Is NoteMotion compatible with your computer?

A practical guide to Windows support, meeting platforms, audio setup, and what to test before an important call.

NoteMotion is currently available as a 64-bit desktop application for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Compatibility also depends on your audio devices, meeting application, permissions, and screen-sharing method.

Supported operating systems

Windows 11 is the recommended environment. Windows 10 is supported when current system updates are installed. macOS, Linux, mobile devices, and Windows on ARM are not currently listed as supported production environments.

Check the compatibility matrix before installing if your computer is managed by an employer or uses an uncommon processor architecture.

Meeting platforms

NoteMotion works alongside common desktop and browser meeting tools by listening to the audio available on your computer. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet are the primary tested environments. Other browser-based meetings may work, but should be tested before an important conversation.

Audio requirements

You need a working microphone, a stable internet connection, and access to the meeting's audio. Connect your headset before opening NoteMotion, then confirm the intended microphone and output device.

Corporate security tools and Windows privacy settings can prevent applications from accessing audio. If transcription does not begin, check Windows microphone permissions and restart NoteMotion after changing devices.

Private overlay and screen sharing

The private overlay is designed for supported Windows capture paths. Results can vary depending on whether you share your whole desktop, one application window, or a browser tab.

Run a short test call and view the shared screen from a second device. This is especially important after updating Windows, your meeting application, or screen-recording software.

Before an important meeting

  1. Install the latest NoteMotion release.
  2. Connect the microphone or headset you plan to use.
  3. Confirm that Windows permits microphone access.
  4. Start a test meeting and verify live transcription.
  5. Test your intended screen-sharing mode from another participant's view.
  6. Review known issues for current workarounds.

Reporting a compatibility problem

Include your NoteMotion version, Windows version, meeting application, audio device, and the steps that reproduce the problem. Screenshots help when they do not contain confidential meeting information.
